Gstaad is one of the world's top resorts, with a wonderful selection of on and off-slope facilities. Accommodation standards in the village are legendary and include three five star hotels, one of which is the famous Palace. The resort's main street, packed with luxury designer boutiques, was pedestrianised in 1997. The apres ski scene is equally cosmopolitan with a number of exclusive night spots, high caliber bars and over 50 restaurants serving local specialties such as "Suura Mocka" or "Hobelkaese" as well as international cuisine.
