» Description
Light micrograph of a section through the epiphysis of a growing long bone (tibia). The zone of reserved cartilage containing moderately dispersed cartilage cells appears in marked contrast to the growing part of the cartilage, namely the zone of proliferation, where the cartilage cells appear in columns. Perichondrial tissue is seen at the side of the specimen. Mallory-Azan stain. Magnification: x175. |
